Illapu arrives in Arequipa on November 11 to offer a concert and celebrate its 50-year history

The ‘White City’ dresses up this November 11 to receive the long-awaited visit from Illapulegendary Chilean band that has been celebrating its 50 years of uninterrupted career, for which they will offer an expected and very intimate show at the Municipal Theater of Arequipa.

Founded by the Márquez brothers in 1971, this group from the city of Antofagasta is born from the ancestral roots of the Andean world. They have released nearly 30 albums, including new labels, compilations or live recordings.

Currently, Illapu is made up of Roberto Márquez, José Miguel Márquez, Cristian Márquez, Carlos Elgueta, José Luis Contreras, Luis Alfredo Ulloa and Sidney Fernandes. It is important to point out that the name of the group comes from the Quechua language and means “lightning”.
