Adolfo Aguilar: “I am proud as a Peruvian to be one of the voices of ‘Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse'”

Adolfo Aguilar He has fulfilled one of his dreams. And it is that he, as a great fan of “Spider-Man”, will now be part of the story of the character he admires so much by participating in the dubbing for Latin America of “Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse”.

The sequel to the award-winning film called “Into the Spider-Verse” hits theaters this June 1, and those who decide to see the film dubbed into our language will recognize the voices of famous Latin American actors, among them the Peruvian Adolfo Aguilar.

Known for his role as host of very successful television programs such as “Yo Soy”, Adolfo has developed a career as a voice actor and host at the same time. In this facet, a milestone that makes him very happy is being part of the “Spider-Man” tape.

“Spider-Man is my favorite superhero. In fact, my first childhood memory is watching ‘Spider-Man’ on a black and white TV in my parents’ room.”Adolfo commented to “Saltar Intro” of “El Comercio”.

The road to the Spider-Verse

The selection process fell “suddenly” to Adolfo, since he was doing some things for his new film, “The worst of my weddings 3”, when his agent sent him the news that he could participate in the new film from “Spider-Man”.

“He told me: ‘What would you do if I told you that you have been called to be part of the Spanish-language cast of the film? ‘Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse’ in Spanish?’. And I was not in Lima, I was in some meetings to see the musicalization of ‘The worst of my weddings 3’, I kept thinking: ‘What? As?’. He continued telling me: ‘Calm down, they’re going to call you and they’re going to give you some information that you have to answer and then they’re going to come back to me, then we’re going to sign some contracts and from there you’re just going to record’”Aguilar recalled that he returned to Peru just to balance the recording times of voices.

And what does it feel like to cross the barrier of a simple fan and become one of the most anticipated films by millions of people in the world? Adolfo says that, as a Peruvian, he is proud to be present to lend his voice to one of Marvel’s most iconic characters.

“It goes beyond just being a fan, because at the end of the day, I’m going to be a part of the history of the ‘Spider-Man’ movies. My name will appear in the credits and, furthermore, I am proud to be a part, that they have taken into account a Peruvian to give the voice to one of the characters in this film “said Aguilar, who considers this tape one of the best made on the history of Spider-Man.

Adolfo also highlighted that this new film presents a story of love and friendship in which miles morales (Spider-Man) applies the most important motto of all “Spider-Man”: “With great power comes great responsibility.”

Finally, the actor challenged the public to recognize the voices in the dubbing. “Go to the cinema, watch the movie, listen to the voices… it will be difficult for you to find out who is who, because there are lines, there are ways of saying things, but try to guess”said. “I would love for them to go and be happy to know that there are a couple of Peruvians who have given their voice to this structure, this gigantic cinematographic machinery and that we are there, that we are working to achieve much more and this is just the beginning”Adolfo finished.
