Indecopi sanctions the organizers of the Perú Central Festival in Junín with S/ 563,112

The Commission of the Regional Office of the indecopi in Junín, Huancayo headquarters (ORI Huancayo) sanctioned the organizers of the event with a fine of 113.76 UIT (563,112 soles). Central Peru Festival. This is because they did not comply with presenting all the promoted artists, nor with the start time of the musical concert on July 29 and 30, 2022.

The providers had informed users that they were sponsored by certain companies, but this was not the case. In addition, they did not return the amount of the tickets to the affected consumers, despite the fact that they announced it on their social networks.

Therefore, through the Final Resolution No. 361-2023/Indecopi-JUNthe Commission concluded that the organizers violated articles 2, 18, 19 and 97 of the Consumer Protection and Defense Code.

As is known, the aforementioned articles highlight the obligation of providers to provide their services, as offered, and provide truthful information. Likewise, they mention the right that users have to return the consideration paid if the service does not reasonably conform to the terms of the offer, promotion or advertising.

Given this, the Technical Secretariat of the Indecopi Huancayo Regional Office initiated the administrative sanction procedure (PAS) against said suppliers, as a result of preliminary investigations. However, they can still file an appeal since the resolution is in the first instance.
