Garbage: everything we know about the concert in Lima

The city of Lima is preparing to welcome one of the most influential bands in alternative rock in an event that promises to bring back the energy of the 90s. The band Garbage, with his long career, comes to offer a night with the best of his repertoire and his new hits today at 8:00 pm at the Exhibition Park Amphitheater. Tickets available at Teleticket.

About the band Garbage

The story of Garbage originates with the vision of Butch Vig, a highly influential record producer who worked on iconic albums such as Nirvana’s “Nevermind” and The Smashing Pumpkins’ “Siamese Dream.” Vig decided to form a band and recruited his fellow producers, Steve Marker and Duke Erikson, to join him on this musical adventure. The search for a vocalist led the group to discover Shirley Manson on MTV, who had already participated in other musical projects, including Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie and Angelfish. Impressed by her talent, they invited Manson to join the group as lead vocalist.

The name Garbage, according to vocalist Shirley Manson, was chosen with a touch of humor and as a way to protect himself from criticism. Additionally, the name also refers to the “trash sound” that is sometimes found in their songs. Their music is characterized by its emotional and angry lyrics, which contrast with its style of hard rock and alternative rock. The group uses a wide variety of elements in their music, including samples, electronic loops, grunge guitars and high-quality production, typical of three music producers. This elaborate production creates a distinctive sound that often resembles the “wall-of-sound” popularized by Phil Spector.

In 1999 they released the theme song for the nineteenth James Bond film, "The World Is Not Enough."

The day of the concert will be Monday, September 11, 2023, at 8:00 pm, in the amphitheater of the Exhibition Park. During the event, all attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy the exciting rhythm of their most recent EP, “Witness To Your Love”, lasting approximately 2 hours.
