Iris Apfel, American fashion icon, dies at 102

The businesswoman and interior designer Iris Apfelalso recognized as an international fashion icon, has died at the age of 102.

Although the causes of his death are not knownthe date of death was confirmed on the artist’s official Instagram account, which generated worldwide commotion for someone who in life was one of the longest-lived figures in fashion.

Thus, Apfel is known for having decorated the United States White House for nine administrations, from Harry S. Truman to Bill Clinton.

His worldwide popularity grew in 2005, when he was 84 years old after presenting a collection at the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

“Suddenly I have become a geriatric star. My husband and I laughed a lot about the situation. “I’ve been doing this my whole life and now I find myself with tons of magazines.”Apfel told the Spanish media El País.

In 2022, Apfel’s style arrived in Peru under a fashion collection made by a transnational clothing store, with which they celebrated their centenary of life.
