Anitta pays tribute to the Brazilian musical style in her album “Funk Generation”

Brazilian singer Anitta This Friday he released his new album ‘Funk Generation’, an ode to the generation that grew up to the rhythm of the musical style that emerged in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro and that he will present around the world on a tour that begins in Mexico next May.

The Brazilian artist began warming up for the release of this album last year, with the publication of the three-song preview ‘Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story’, after which she released the successful collaboration with the Mexican Featherweight called ‘BELLAKEO ‘.

Finally, this Friday the Brazilian’s followers will be able to listen to the fifteen songs from an album that fluctuates between funk, pop and electronica and that features collaborations with renowned international artists such as the British Sam Smith and the Spanish Bad Gyal.

In a press release issued this Friday, Anitta claimed funk as a style “rooted in the culture of those who live in Brazilian favelas,” as was the case of the singer, who assured that she belongs to “a generation that embraced rhythm, “He left the favelas and conquered Brazil.”

In that same statement, the Brazilian artist denounces the prejudice that exists in Brazil against this musical genre, which is often “unfairly judged as lacking artistic value” and “even associated with organized crime.”

With both this album and her ‘Baile Funk Experience Tour’, which will tour some of the most important capitals in America and Europe, the singer aims to become the international ambassador of funk.

Before what will be her first tour in North America, Anitta has already performed on American stages, with a surprise appearance at the Peso Pluma concert at Coachella and this Thursday night, at the Latin American Awards held in Las Vegas.
