The first and long-awaited trailer of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”, the sequel with which Tim Burton resurrects one of his most iconic characters. Michael Keaton returns to play the “bioexorcist” 36 years later in this film that will hit theaters on September 6.

The preview shows Astrid, the character played by Jenna Ortega – the big signing of the sequel who reunites with Burton after the first season of Wednesday – the daughter of Lydia Deetz, who is once again played by Winona Ryder, riding a bicycle through scenarios that will be very familiar. Among them the place where Adam (Alec Baldwin) and Barbara (Geena Davis) Maitland met their premature deaths after a car accident in the first film.

It will be the young woman who, after a family loss, will discover the model of the town in the attic and will once again invoke the foul-mouthed, charismatic and spirited man. “The dead man is on the loose,” says Keaton’s character upon his return.

“Bitelchús is back! After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to the small town of Winter River. Lydia’s life, still tormented by Bitelchus, takes a turn when Astrid, her rebellious teenage daughter, discovers the mysterious model of the city in the attic and the portal to the Beyond opens accidentally. With so many problems in both worlds, it is only a matter of time before someone says Bitelchús’s name three times and the mischievous demon returns to his old ways to unleash his particular chaos.” indicates the official synopsis of the film.

Other new cast members include Monica Bellucci as Betelgeuse’s wife, Willem Dafoe as an underworld cop, and Justin Theroux in an undisclosed role. Catherine O’Hara will reprise her role as Delia Deetz. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, creators of Wednesday, have signed the script for Beetlejuice 2, which will be released in theaters on September 6, 2024.
