Dr. Luke accuses Kesha of losing him $ 46 million for accusing him of rape

It’s been seven years since Kesha accused Dr. Luke, her ex-producer, of rape and the case is still far from being concluded. Nonetheless, while a defamation lawsuit appears to be on track, Lukasz Gottwald could claim $ 46 million in damages from the singer as revealed by legal documents obtained by the Hollywood Reporter with the New York court.

An amount that would correspond to the shortfall caused by this accusation which had pushed many artists such as Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne or Miley Cyrus to turn away from the producer who had yet signed some of their greatest successes. To arrive at this amount, Dr. Luke brought in a financial expert who sought to estimate what his client might have made if his career had continued smoothly until 2024.

Pure speculation according to the second opinion commissioned by Kesha, noting that the career of the producer was already on the decline before the accusations of the star.

Anyway, the arguments of both parties were heard by a judge last Thursday for a trial whose date remains to be defined. A forthcoming hearing should make it possible to see more clearly, in particular as regards the acceptability of the various proofs put forward by the two parties.
