Gilberto Santa Rosa and El Gran Combo will perform at the end of the year special in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rican salsa singer Gilberto Santa Rosa and El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico will participate, from the island, in the historic edition of the year-end special most watched on American television: Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin ‘Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2022, it was announced this Wednesday.

The farewell to the year will be divided into two activities open to the public, although with limited attendance. The main one will take place inside the T-Mobile District in San Juan with the reggaeton artist Daddy Yankee, as well as Santa Rosa, the Abrante Tribe, Melina León and Plenéalo.

The other will take place abroad with the presentations of El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Pirulo y la Tribu, Límite 21, Victoria Sanabria and a group of disc jockeys.

This was announced this Wednesday in a press release by the governor of Puerto Rico, Pedro Pierluisi, together with the executive director of the Puerto Rico Convention District Authority (ADCPR), Mariela Vallines, giving details of the event “From Puerto Rico for the world”.

“We are very excited about this activity, which will be a great artistic spectacle. The eyes of the world will be in Puerto Rico because it is the first time that the farewell of the year will be broadcast to the entire United States, as well as to other countries, from a Spanish-speaking destination ”, Pierluisi said.

Vallines, for its part, reported that the event will allow the entry of up to 10,000 fully vaccinated people and who present evidence, either with their Vacu-ID or vaccination card with photo identification.

For the event within the T-Mobile District, there will be a capacity of up to 2,000 people, while abroad, the rest of the 8,000 may be.

The event will have personnel from the Department of Health who will attend to any emergency and will ensure compliance with the measures and restrictions against covid-19.

By directive of the Department of Health for mass events, children under 5 years of age will not be admitted, and all minors of 5 years or more who attend must be fully vaccinated and a minimum of 14 days have passed since their second dose.

“The situation of covid-19 is changing every day and we want to guarantee a safe event and with the health measures recommended by specialists”, Vallines said.

People will be able to arrive at the facilities from 4:00 p.m. (8:00 p.m. GMT), local time.

There will be three main entrances that will have Health inspectors and members of the Police.

The Police Bureau will have more than 100 agents at different points, will have a command center, will carry out land, air and maritime surveillance, canine dogs and surveillance by security cameras.
