The Vaucluse placed on red alert

Attention, the Vaucluse department is currently on red alert for cupressaceae pollen, a family of plants that includes cypresses, junipers and cedars, reports France Bleu Vaucluse. It is a pollen that is particularly abundant in the Mediterranean region.

The National Aerobiological Surveillance Network (RNSA) warns that “in the Mediterranean region, the risk of allergy linked to cupressaceae pollen will remain high throughout the coming week, even if the concentrations have started to decline gradually”.

Medium risk regarding poplar pollens

According to RNSA forecasts, poplar pollen will cause an average risk of allergy in the Vaucluse. Alder, willow, oak and ash pollen will only represent a low risk.

“Plane tree pollen appeared on our sensors as well. Pollination is generally sudden and the risk of allergy could very quickly reach an average level in the coming days, ”underlines the RNSA.
