A pacifier to help children stop… a pacifier!

In his professional practice, Arnaud Bijanek, a dental technician in charge of two laboratories in Chartres specializing in orthodontics, spends 90% of his time correcting nipple or thumb misbehavior in children.

“Up to three years, the effect is more beneficial than harmful. But after this age, it causes malformations of the palate and other problems. So you need to stop, but do it carefully, ”explains 43-year-old Chartrain.

When he became a father, he decided to tackle this problem and introduced a prototype pacifier for his children, equipped with a series of five stackable flanges. Gradually, the size of the suction cup is reduced so that the child eventually gets used to it in a month or two, without injury.

In 2021, Arnaud Bijanek patented his device called the Clipp. The product was submitted to the National Medicines Safety Agency and the first batch was produced. The part for the pacifier is imported from Germany due to the lack of a supplier in France, but the collars are made in Aine, the graphic designer is Chartrain, and the packaging was entrusted to the local ESAT.

This pacifier recently went on sale on the brand’s website at a price of 19.90 euros. But Arnaud Bijanek’s real goal is to convince pharmacists to sell it. To accelerate this development, he has just joined the latest class 101, Chartres city of innovation, and is counting on the support of the incubator to help him succeed in this commercial launch.
