Business leaders will be able to access the vaccination rate of their staff

The Vaccination Task Force in Belgium revealed this Saturday that Belgian companies with more than 50 employees will be able to obtain, at the initiative of the boss or occupational medicine, the vaccination rate in their structure, reports the Belga press agency. , relayed by RTBF.

This measure had already been mentioned on September 19 by the Belgian Minister of Health Frank Vandenbroucke in the newspaper Echo, without further details at the time.

Anonymity preserved?

Henceforth, we therefore know which companies and by what means this vaccination rate can be known. By limiting access to this data to companies with more than 50 employees, the anonymity of workers should therefore be preserved. Once informed, companies will then be able to freely disseminate this figure. As such, it was also decided to give a precise vaccination rate to companies only if it is between 20 and 95%, in order in particular to avoid a runaway around a 100% vaccination rate.

A “high vaccination rate can in no way mean that the preventive measures relating to Covid-19 (barrier gestures, etc.) should no longer be applied”, thus cautioned the Vaccination Task Force. This information measure should therefore reinforce the introduction in Wallonia, by mid-October, of the Covid Safe Ticket, the Belgian equivalent of the health pass. Flanders is not yet concerned by this device.
