CBD Gummies Recalled Due to Risk of Poisoning

CBD gummies are being recalled. There is a risk of poisoning when ingesting this non-addictive cannabinoid.

These products come in the form of gummies, a type of fruit paste. They were on sale until December 18 in three Parisian stores. The stores are part of the SoCBD network and are located on Rue Oberkampf in the 11th arrondissement of the capital, on Rue Maubeuge (9th arrondissement) and Rue Cimart in the 18th arrondissement.

We are talking about delicious chewing candies. They all care whether it’s strawberry, peach or apple flavor (strawberry, peach and apple in English). Lots are sold in packs of 10 pieces of 50 g. Authorities ask you not to consume these products again. You can contact the point of sale and return the chewing candies to the store. Exchanges are possible until January 31, the date corresponding to the end of the withdrawal procedure.

Weight problem

This product recall comes after a party went wrong recently. Such sweets were used there. As Le Parisien explained last week, a group of adults in their forties ingested such a paste during a gift exchange between them on December 9. They were in big trouble. Seven people had to be hospitalized.

Tests showed that the candies contained THC, a naturally occurring psychoactive derivative of cannabis, and H4CBD, a derivative of CBD, but did not exceed the permitted percentage thresholds. The problem will be the weight of the candy. If the percentage of active substance remains low and legal, the total accepted weight will nevertheless become too high, especially for people who do not normally consume this type of substance. “These are products sold on the legal CBD health market, without recommendations for use, but with effects that can be dangerous in both the short and long term,” warns Anne Batisse, head of the drug addiction surveillance center based in Paris.
