The family of a suspected gunman in Ireland have launched a GoFundMe to help cover the costs of his funeral after he was stabbed “almost 30 times”.

Tristan Sherry is said to have opened fire at a steakhouse in west Dublin on Christmas Eve, seriously injuring guest Jason Hennessy Senior and killing his son.

Marey Hand – believed to be Sherry’s mother – has now started a fundraising campaign to support her son’s funeral.

She wrote: “Hi, my name is Marey Hand and my son was murdered on Christmas Eve. His name was Tristan Sherry.” We set this up to raise money for his funeral costs at this difficult time. We are absolutely devastated that this has happened.

“He was known for his love of motorcycles and was loved by many. He was a wonderful son, brother, father and friend. “We can’t believe that life has to go on without him.”

On Christmas Day, a shocking video was uploaded to social media showing Sherry lying in the street covered in blood when he was hit in the head with a restaurant chair after the shooting.
