Isola, the new bar in Larcomar that seeks to conquer the public with Italian classics

With almost three months on the market, this cocktail proposal is the only one of its kind in this new gastronomic space and combines a very elegant and Italian aesthetic (with an elegant bar, high and comfortable seats, and well-thought-out tableware).

“When we came to see the spaces and they offered us this island, we saw that it was somewhat shaped like Sicily, the largest island in Italy. That, added to the fact that Italian appetizers or bitters are in fashion, we wanted to bet on this concept that flirts with the idea of being on a luxury yacht,” explains Ossio.

According to what he tells us, in this space you can enjoy everything from classics like those already mentioned, to his own creations that were worked on with the bartender Jair de Rosas. “The interesting thing about our process is that we developed the menu in a couple of months, but we still have options to bring out little by little and continue to surprise those who come,” says the chef, who also has a proposal for Sea food in this gastronomic patio.

Pisco Sour.

The experience

The first cocktail we tried was the Helena Montenegro, one of the most complex and powerful in terms of flavor. It has a base of rum, Amaro Montenegro, cherry cream, drops of balsamic vinegar and prosciutto decoration, designed to offer an interesting contrast.

To accompany the cocktails, we tasted some snack options very consistent with the concept: a delicious carpaccio of meat topped with a soft sauce and capers, to surprise with its acidity on the palate; and one charcuterie board beautifully served, accompanied with pieces of focaccia.

If they are classics, their Pisco Sour It’s delicious. Balanced, with the perfect amount of pisco and fresh lemon. The aromatic Negroni It could not be missed and did not disappoint with its complex and interesting flavor.

The most ordered drink at this bar is the cocktail. Island, which quickly became our favorite thanks to its smooth, fresh and quite different flavor from what we have been able to find before. It is a combination of wine infused with citrus peels and herbs such as lemon balm, mint and peppermint. It is combined with tonic water and served with a decorative caper.

We tried the Isola cocktail and the beef carpaccio.

Whether you are one of the diners who go for the classics or are more curious and willing to try new flavors, Island It is a bar that can easily become a favorite.

Fact:

Island Bar It is located on level -3 of the Larcomar shopping center (Malecón de la Reserva 610, Miraflores). They are open Monday to Sunday, from noon to 11 p.m.
