Colo Colo drew 1-1 against Audax Italiano in the recent day of the First Division of Chile. The ‘Albos’ comfortably won 1-0 with a goal from Lucero (7′), but an own goal from Amor (53′) caused the tie. Although the ‘Cacique’ could have gone into the break with a greater advantage, however, Gabriel Costa missed a penalty.

A sector of the fans criticized the midfielder of the Peruvian team for missing a clear scoring opportunity that perhaps could have changed the process of the match. However, the technical director Gustavo Quinteros came out in his support at a press conference.

“I don’t analyze or judge a player for one or two games. I know of the conditions that he has. I always bet on giving them confidence to, in some cases, recover the best level from him. I hope people understand it that way too.” he pointed.

In the same way, the Colo Colo technician mentioned the following: “We give confidence to the player who feels good to kick (penalties). If everything turns out well and if not, we continue to support and encourage. We have missed penalties and hand in hand, but I am confident that we will improve ”, he added.

Gabriel Costa won the Chilean Super Cup

A month ago, the midfielder celebrated his first title of the year by lifting the Chilean Super Cup with Colo Colo, who beat Universidad Católica 2-0. Although he did not score, Gabriel Costa was mobile and created scoring chances. Therefore, he was chosen as the best player of the engagement.

“We continue with the development of our game. We had a good preseason. We are well prepared physically and mentally too. Today the work that we have been maintaining was demonstrated, the intensity, good posture when pressing, defending. To attack, not to mention. We are very happy.”, Costa told TNT Sports after the match.
