Pedri: “Messi has scored better goals, being compared to him is crazy”

The steering wheel of Barcelona Pedro González ‘Pedri’ considered that his team went ahead with the match against Galatasaray “out of character and desire to win” after winning 1-2 in Istanbul and thus qualifying for the Europa League quarterfinals. Similarly, he spoke about the comparisons with Lionel Messi.

“I had never been in a field that is so tight, it’s crazy. It was important to tie quickly because with such an atmosphere they have come up after their gol”, the author of the 1-1 told Movistar+.

In this sense, he admitted not remembering much about a masterful play in which he left two rival defenses sitting with two feints, before subtly beating Iñaki Peña.

“In the field, things go by themselves. Two players have left me and I have faked until I have found the hole”, Pedro recounted.

Asked if it is a goal reminiscent of Messi’s, he did not want to compare himself with him: “I think Messi has scored much better goals, comparing myself to him is crazy.”

Regarding Sunday’s Clasico against Real Madrid, the Canarian midfielder considers that Barça arrives “at the best time of the year, playing good football”. Thus, he believes that his team will have “a chance to win.”
