Cardiff City seeks stunning €80m compensation for Emiliano Sala

Although more than three years have passed since Emiliano Sala’s fatal accident, the conflict has not ended. Cardiff City is requesting compensation of more than 80 million pounds sterling from the club where Emiliano Sala came from, Nantes.

The English team maintained that Sala’s death meant that they will not be able to stay in the Premier League. For this reason, he requests compensation from the French club, according to The Sun newspaper.

The Argentine soccer player was bought for 15 million in January 2019, however, he never made his debut with Cardiff as he died in a plane crash on the way to make the transfer.

It should be noted that the ‘Bluebirds’ were relegated during the 2018-19 season from the highest category of English football. For the coach Neil Warnock, the lack of Emiliano Sala affected the club that stayed by two points of difference compared to Brighton.

In addition, Cardiff’s claim was released this Monday in a book called ‘The truth – The murder of Emiliano Sala’.

Cardiff used the 2007 Carlos Tevez case as an example of its position, since, at that time, it was ruled that West Ham violated rules regarding the ownership of third-party players by signing the Argentine; and, this, affected Sheffield United that ended up descending.

In the end, Sheffield United reached an agreement with West Ham and they agreed to a compensation fee worth £26.5m. Now, Cardiff hopes that the CAS decision will come out in his favour.
