Universitario reactivated a home where it houses the players of the minor divisions

University of Sports thinks about the future. For this reason, since January of this year, the cream club reactivated a home in the Lolo Fernández Stadium where it houses the players of the minor divisions who arrive from the province and live in Lima, as mentioned on their website.

“In the historic stadium of Breña, 14 boys between the ages of 13 and 18, live together in shared rooms, have a nutritional plan according to their objectives and train in the different headquarters of the institution”, reads in the statement of the sports entity.

The ‘U’ indicates that the young soccer players have the advice of academic tutors. In addition, some of the athletes have managed to obtain scholarships at Innova Schools. Along the same lines, the lower divisions receive talks from the psychology department.

On the other hand, the fans of Universitario also joined this initiative since some have contributed with donations to improve the facilities of the home. Due to that help, the kitchen and bedding were remodeled.

“Thanks to the contribution of the group of fans ‘Crema Runners’, the donation of appliances was made, with the aim of giving a better lifestyle to our future talents”said the sports institution.

Sports University: its next challenges

Universitario won an important victory against Atlético Grau de Piura, but they will have to turn the page quickly because they must focus on their next matches that will define whether they have options to fight for the title of the Opening Tournament or not.

Jorge Araujo’s team will have to host Alianza Atlético de Sullana on Saturday, May 7 at the Monumental Stadium in Ate. A victory would allow the creams to dream of belonging to the top of the championship.
