Promotion and Reservations Tournament 2022 will start on June 3 with a new format

Promotion and Reservations Tournament returns with a renewed edition. The contest will begin on June 3 and will be played regionally, with the participation of the 32 teams from Liga1 and Liga2, the Peruvian Football Federation reported Thursday.

“This championship will be played in a two-wheel format, all against all; in 4 groups of 8 teams defined by geographical proximity”, detailed the highest entity of national football through a statement.

“One of the groups will be made up of the clubs of Metropolitan Lima. The first two of each group will qualify for the quarterfinals, which will be played in round-trip matches, while the semifinals and final will be played in a single match.”, it was announced.

The FPF also confirmed that the champion of the Reserve Tournament will be awarded 2 points, while the runner-up will receive 1 point to the accumulated score in their respective league.

“Among other features of the tournament, teams will be able to register up to 30 players (Under-20 category), must line up at least 8 U-20 category players on the field and may have 3 free category players from their main senior team.”, indicated the Federation.
