Conmebol recalled in a publication the only match of the Peruvian National Team vs. Australia

Peru received confirmation that Australia will be the team it will face in the playoff match on June 13 in Doha, for one of the last places for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. After that, Conmebol recalled the confrontation between both teams in the Cup of the World in Russia 2018.

“The last time the Peruvian National Team faced Australia, they won with goals from A. Carrillo and P. Guerrero. Believe big”maintained the publication and Conmebol.

It should be noted that shortly before, the highest soccer entity made another publication on its Twitter account: “All ready! The Peruvian National Team already has a rival and will face the Australian national team on June 13 at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Doha, Qatar from 9 a.m. (local time). Come on, Peru!

Peru and Australia have only played each other once with a balance favorable to the Incas. The duel occurred in the group stage of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

In this match, Peru defeated the Australians 2-0 with goals from André Carrillo and Paolo Guerrero, which allowed them to take third place behind France and Denmark.

Australia, 42nd in the FIFA rankings, are seeking their fifth consecutive qualification for the World Cup finals, but have only won two of their last eight meetings.

Those led by Tigre Gareca will once again play a playoff just as it happened on the way to Russia. That time the Peruvians eliminated New Zealand.
