The Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD) organized the farewell ceremony for the Peruvian delegation that will participate in the XIX Bolivarian Games Valledupar 2022. The president of the entity, Máximo Pérez Zevallos, stated that the objective is “Leave the name of Peru high.

The event to which the Peruvian delegation will travel will be held from June 24 to July 5 in Colombia and will be attended by 600 people including athletes, officials, coaches who will say present in 41 of the 45 sports disciplines that the organization has determined.

“The IPD greets you and recognizes you high-performance athletes who begin the Olympic cycle with your participation in the XIX Bolivarian Games Valledupar 2022. Then it will be Asunción 2022 in October of this year and the Pan American Games Santiago 2023 to achieve the goal of qualifying to the Olympic Games Paris 2024″pointed out the head of the IPD.

“We are no longer going to participate, we are going to fight on the sports field, we are going with the objective that our flag flies at the top. Thanks Peru. Thanks to you athletes from the country. They are our heroes in times of peace. They are an example of discipline, courage, talent and dedication to the sport and our nation. Peru will be aware of you”, added Pérez Zevallos.

The ceremony that took place on the football field of the National Stadium was attended by the president of the IPD, Máximo Pérez Zevallos, the president of the Peruvian Olympic Committee (COP), Renzo Manyari, the director of the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports of the Minedu , Wilder Bustamante, the director of Legacy, Federico Tong in addition to the athletes who will participate in the competition.

It should be noted that, in the XIX Bolivarian Games, which will be held thanks to the Bolivarian Sports Organization (ODEBO), the participating countries are: Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.

In what disciplines will the Peruvian delegation compete?

The Peruvian National Team will compete in athletics, badminton, handball, baseball, bowling, boxing, speed boating, BMX racing cycling, mountain biking, track cycling, road cycling, equestrian, fencing, water skiing, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, golf, judo, karate, weightlifting, wrestling, swimming, open water swimming, artistic swimming, speed skating, water polo, rowing, rugby 7’s, softball, squash, taekwondo, field tennis, table tennis table, archery, sports shooting, triathlon, sailing, volleyball and beach volleyball.
