Carlos Tévez, in his presentation: “Rosario Central is a sleeping giant, he has to wake up”

Carlos Tévez’s cycle as coach of Rosario Central has officially started this Tuesday. Hours after directing his first practice, the ‘Apache’ was presented at a press conference, accompanied by Raúl Gordillo, sports director, and Ricardo Carloni, vice president of the institution.

“The first challenge as a coach was taken at Central by its people. I was in many clubs, but Rosario has that plus of the people. If we do things right, we can make a lot of noise and a lot of history. For this reason, I fully trust that my group and I can do something nice with Rosario Central. I am convinced of that”was the first thing the Argentine pointed out.

The former player of Boca Juniors, Manchester City, Juventus, Manchester United, among others, clarified that he has not requested reinforcements and, in any case, it will be carried out depending on the analysis he makes with his coaching staff.

“I have not asked for any reinforcement. A year ago I stopped playing. When a coach arrived and there was talk of reinforcements, I didn’t like it. I respect him very much. I haven’t talked to any of them. I want to see the boys, to show me that they want to play in Central”, I point.

Tévez also referred to the change in attitude that he expects from the team. “I told the guys up front. They have to show it in every training session and match. Whoever doesn’t, he has the door open to leave. Rosario Central is a sleeping giant, it has to wake up. We have to take this club to another step, which is to compete”he expressed.

On the other hand, the DT revealed that Antonio Conte is his “great benchmark” on the bench. “It was one of the ones that taught me the most as a player. I’m going to try to get them to play a little, half…“, said.

Finally, Tévez promised to call Ángel Di María, identified with Rosario Central and who is free after announcing that he will not renew his contract with PSG.
