José Luis Mandros excelled in the long jump test and finished at the top of the podium, after his presentation at the National Athletics Center. The 23-year-old athlete achieved a distance of 8.07 m., above the Uruguayan Emiliano Lasa (7.93 m.) and the Colombian Jhon Andrés Berrío (7.89 m.).

For his part, Yuta Galarreta showed the best of his talent for keys and movements in the 90-kilogram judo category and beat Brazilian Vinicius Mendes and Venezuelan Carlos Páez before reaching the final. In the last instance, the Peruvian defeated the Argentine Mariano Coto.

While Kenny Kishimoto put his skill in men’s bowling into practice and consummated his triumph after beating Colombian Jaime González, thanks to a score of 686 to 620.

Who also got on the podium this Wednesday was Pool Ambrocio, who took second place in the 87-kilogram Greco-Roman wrestling final and won the silver medal.

The bronze medals of the day for Peru came through the judoka Daryl Yamamoto, in the -100 kilogram category; the athlete Ximena Zorrilla, in the hammer throw; and Evelyn Inga, running 20 kilometers.

Three days before the closing of the South American Games, Peru has thirteen gold, thirteen silver and twenty-seven bronze medals. In the general medal table, the national delegation is located in the seventh box, behind Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela and Ecuador.
