After its match against kyiv, Stade Rennais auctions off its shirts

Sometimes accused of living above ground, the world of football can also sometimes show a great outpouring of solidarity. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, several football clubs have led initiatives to financially support the Ukrainian people. Stade Rennais will also make its contribution.

Victorious over Dynamo kyiv on Thursday evening in the Europa League, the Breton club has decided to auction the jerseys worn by its players during the match which took place in Krakow (Poland). The sale will be held on the MatchWornShirt platform until October 22 at 4 p.m. with a starting price set at 89 euros per shirt.

250 refugees invited to the stadium on the outward journey

But only a few minutes after the start of the sale, some jerseys are already snapping up like that of Benjamin Bourigeaud or Steve Mandanda. And that’s just the beginning. Stade Rennais indicates that the profits collected during this sale “will be donated in full to a Ukrainian association identified with Dynamo kyiv. »

During the first leg a week ago, the Breton club had already invited 250 Ukrainian refugees to Roazhon Park.
