The tribute of the players of France to the first amateur club of each | PHOTO

In the middle of the Qatar 2022 World Cup and with their sights set on Poland, their rival for the round of 16, Kylian Mbappé and the other players of the France team were the protagonists of a special tribute to each one’s first amateur club. The result was a tremendous postcard that will remain for the memory.

In the image, almost all the members of ‘Les Bleus’ pose with the jersey of the first teams to which they belonged. Thus, you can see Mbappé with the green of AS Bondy, like his teammate William Saliba. Antoine Griezmann, on the other hand, donned the UF Màcon kit.

“Hello everyone from the AS Bondy club. This is Kylian speaking to send you a small message, to thank you for all your support. Thinking of you from here in Qatar. And I hope we can see each other again soon. A lot of strength, see you soon”said Mbappé in a video shared by the French Football Federation.

Matteo Guendouzi was conspicuous by his absence in the photo. And it is that the midfielder had PSG, a professional club, as his first team. In addition, he is currently at Olympique de Marseille and wearing the Parisian garment could have generated controversy, due to the rivalry between the two teams.

Poland, tough rival for France

Robert Lewandowski’s Poland will be the first obstacle on Sunday in the crossroads in the way of France to try to revalidate the world crown, something that only two teams achieved before in the World Cup: Italy (1934 and 1938) and Brazil (1958 and 1962).

Despite the favoritism of the ‘Bleus’, captain Hugo Lloris recalled this Saturday what happened in the Euro Cup last year, when France was eliminated in the round of 16 by Switzerland: “Many times we tell ourselves that we must not relax whatever the scenario (…) and if we have the opportunity, we must ‘kill’ the game”.
