neymarforward of the Brazilian team, will be called to testify as a witness in the framework of a case that investigates the purchase of jewelry of alleged illegal origin, the Brasilia Police reported this Friday.

Neymar’s name appears on an invoice as the buyer of some jewelry of apparent illegal origin, which was allegedly sold to him by Eduardo Rodrigues Silva, one of the three arrested in the investigations.

Commissioner Fernando Cocito said at a press conference that the Police want to hear Neymar, as a witness, to find out “first, if he really received those jewels, if he has them and what were the values” paid.

The invoice in which the name of the Paris Saint-Germain soccer player appears indicates a value of 106,000 reais (about $21,200).

Also, the Police want to know if Neymar knew the origin of the jewels that Eduardo Rodrigues Silva supposedly gave him, who appears frequently on the footballer’s social networks.

“Considering the strong indications that the jewels sold by Eduardo are of criminal origin, we understood that it is necessary to have the player’s version,” said the commissioner.

During the operation in Brasilia, three people were arrested, two cars and a luxury boat were confiscated, residences, jewelry stores and a clandestine poker casino were raided, and some 3.2 million dollars were blocked in the accounts of those investigated. .
