Karmine Corp: French eSports team joins LEC, League of Legends European Championship

This time it’s done. After several attempts in previous seasons, Karmine Corp announced on its X (formerly Twitter) account that it will compete in the LEC, the European championship for the video game League of Legends, next year.

Karmine Corp, undoubtedly the most popular esports club in France, will join this league, which is closed to just ten franchises, “from the 2024 season.” The French team held talks with Danish club Astralis to regain their place in the LEC.

“Believe in yourself and your dreams”

Thus, “KC” joins the best European championship “League of Legend”, after winning the French Championship twice and the EMEA Masters, the second continental competition, four times in the same game.

“I watched games of LoL (an acronym for League of Legend, editor’s note) in a taxi next door when I was little, with stars in my eyes, a dream, a goal in my head, and I never let it go, it’s a speech ship, but I swear , believe in yourself and in your dreams,” commented Kameto, whose real name is Kamel Kebir, founder of Karmine Corp.

Congratulations from the government

KC’s announcement sparked a strong reaction on X on Wednesday night, with the announcement followed by numerous messages of congratulations to the French club. The government also congratulated Karmine Corp. “Congratulations to Arthur Perticoz and Karmine Corp who are joining the LEC, Europe’s top professional League of Legends division: great news for French esports! “, wrote Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister Delegate in charge of digital technologies, on X.

In September, Karmine Corp announced that it would be based at the Arènes de l’Agora in Evry (Essonne) by 2024, thus becoming the first European esports club to integrate the arena as a permanent club.
