The statements of the Universitario goalkeeper José Carvallo were echoed by Matute and the Alliance defender Carlos Zambrano responded to him in the run-up to the second final of the League 1 Betsson.
‘El Kaiser’, far from entering into the controversy over Alianza Lima’s approach in the Monumental, acknowledged that his team did not play a great game, but it was enough for them to tie.
“Football is like that. With four touches we scored the goal,” he said in response to what Carvallo said at the end of the first final.
“We do not lower our arms and overcome negative things. Even so, they didn’t beat us by playing poorly. In the ‘U’ everyone plays well, there is always respect. Now they come home and it is going to be very nice, a very tough game,” he noted in statements to the press.
“We are going to go out and win. There they will come out a little more, they will try to make four passes in a row,” he said, somewhat critical of the blue and white team’s proposal at the Monumental stadium.
Alianza Lima will host Universitario this Wednesday the 8th from 8:00 p.m. at the Alejandro Villanueva de Matute stadium.
The tickets, as happened in the first final, were sold out in a matter of hours.
