Although only the official announcement is missing, Ricardo Gareca will be the coach of the Chile team for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers and the mid-year Copa América.
According to the southern country’s ’24 Hours’ media, ‘El Tigre’ would be presented this Thursday, January 25, in the Chilean capital, starting at 2:00 pm (local time).
The plan is for it to be in a hotel in the north of Santiago, in the face of great expectations from both the Chilean and international press.
‘El Tigre’ arrives as a replacement for fellow Argentine Eduardo Berizzo who had an irregular start in these Qualifiers.
As recalled, Gareca was coach of the Peruvian team for two qualifying processes with a historic qualification for the World Cup in Russia 2018, and a playoff for Qatar 2022.
