He goal that Aldo Corzo scored in the match between University of Sports and Junior from Barranquillaat the Metropolitan stadium of that Colombian city, for the second date of Group D of the Copa Libertadores, was the 1,000th goal of the Peruvian teams in that competition.
This was pointed out by ‘X’ user Roberto M. Gando, who highlighted that, since 1961, the cream team also scored the 100th goal, by Víctor Lobatón against Estudiantes in 1968.
Aldo Corzo also scored his third goal in the Copa Libertadores after the double he scored against Oriente Petrolero in the 2018 edition.
It is also the first goal that the ‘U’ scores against Junior in the tournament since 2001, when Paolo Maldonado scored 1-1 as a visitor.
