2024 Olympic Games in Paris: composer Victor le Masne, author of the official theme of the ceremonies

Composer Victor le Masne has been selected to conduct the opening and closing ceremonies of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a press release said. He was also responsible for composing the Games’ official theme song, “Parade”, and performed for the first time on Wednesday at 7.30pm when the Olympic flame arrived in Marseille.

“My goal is to create an original soundtrack that will not only accompany the most memorable moments of these historic Games, but will also remain in the memory of all generations,” the composer said, as quoted in the press release. Thus, Le Masne will collaborate with Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the Games, with whom he has already worked on the musical direction of the rock opera Starmania. “I’ve been working on this for over a year, it’s a team effort with many musicians,” he said on France Inter on Wednesday morning.

Producer and composer Victor le Masne collaborated with many French artists such as Juliette Armand, Philippe Catherine, Kavinsky and Eddie de Pretto. “When Victor made me listen to his arrangements, I was blinded by his absolute dedication to the work and the touch of modernity that he still knew how to bring to it,” explains Thomas Jolly, as quoted by Télérama. His classical, jazz and rock background makes him capable of anything. » He also signed some cooperation agreements with Paris 2024, for example during the transfer of the Tokyo 2020 Games by revisiting the La Marseillaise.
