Paris 2024 Olympic Games: Charles Leclerc, climbing the steps… Survive the passage of fire in the Alpes-Maritimes

The Olympic flame returned to France on Tuesday. After the oceans relay and a noticeable visit to the five overseas territories of France (Gayan, Reunion, French Polynesia, Guadeluu, Martinic), the symbol of Olympism was expected in coastal alps. Throughout the “star” day, it passed through the hands of many prestigious torchs. It all started with a roar in the Harbor Vilfransh-Sur-Mer, where the professional freedoms Alice Modolo went after a torch, immersed to a depth of 20 m, and demonstrated an exceptional scene worthy of Big Blue.

Returning to the land, the flame passed through the grass, the world capital of the perfumery, before climbing the steps of the Cannes Film Festival, which was carried by American actress Holly Berry. Then, on the embankment of Kruoazet, the loud names of American sports were marched, including player Megan Rapino.

A few hours later, the relay circled the territory of France, in the Principality of Monaco. On the Rock, Prince Albert II and his wife Princess Charlene, a former Olympic champion, grabbed the precious item before handing it over to Charles Leclerc, the Monaco Formula One driver.

After the flame headed for the heights of the internal regions of Nice, where it went down the cable from the La-Kolmian ski resort, the flame reached Nice at the end of the day, marching along the English embankment and Massen Square. Finally, she reached the embankment of the United States, the place where the boiler was lit.

Stefan Diagana, the first French world athletics champion in 400 meters with barriers in 1997, coped with this task. A total of 157 torchbearers were mobilized throughout the day, including Alain Bernard, Alize Cornet and Alexis Pinturault.
