Guinness-approved Iranian goalkeeper hand throw over 61 yards

Iran goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand entered the Guinness Book of Records on Thursday for the longest hand clearance ever on a soccer field. The Boavista goalkeeper, now 29, raised from 61.26 meters in October 2016, in a 2018 World Cup qualifier against South Korea.

The images of this exploit are not available, but by rummaging a little on the Internet, we realize that Alireza Beiranvand is a specialist in the genre. For example with this video, which dates from 2015.

Or on this one, which compiles its most beautiful throws.

Qualified for the World Cup in Russia, Beiranvand was illustrated there by stopping a penalty from Cristiano Ronaldo during a group match against Portugal (1-1). Originally from the village of Sarab-e Yas, the player grew up in a nomadic family in the province of Lorestan, before coming to Tehran on his own at the age of 15 to fulfill his dream of becoming a footballer.
