Sports journalist Alex Risi died and his colleagues say goodbye on social networks

Regrettable news for sports journalism in Peru. This Sunday it was known that Alex Risi passed away. The television host suffered from a severe illness since 2020, the date on which he was diagnosed with a brain glioma, which required surgical removal.

After the unfortunate event, several of his colleagues spoke out through social networks. One of the first was Sammy Sadovnik, with whom he shared on Frequency Latina (today Latina) a few years ago, on various sports broadcasts.

“I am very sorry for the premature game of my dear Alex Risi, colleague, but above all friend with whom we shared several years on Channel 2 with multiple national and international broadcasts in addition to the sports segments of the QEPD newscast”the narrator expressed on Twitter.

The journalist Juan Carlos Esteves, on his side, highlighted the long career of the late presenter. “Condolences to his relatives. The sports journalist worked for more than thirty years on television and radio … “, he stated.

In turn, another colleague with whom he shared, Jorge Esteves, recalled an anecdote. “It was the first that gave Daniel Peredo space on TV. He always invited us to his program on Channel 7 in the 90’s. Then he just called Daniel. ‘You dedicate yourself to writing, you do it well, that’s why I’m not calling you, Peredo has a future on TV,’ he told me. RIP”.

Alex Risi has had a broad career where he went through the studios of television channels such as Frequencia Latina, TV Perú, UCI Noticias, in his most recent appearance. He also had his space with Radio Ovación microphones.
