Gustavo Alfaro, DT of Ecuador: “A draw in Colombia vs. Peru brings us closer to the World Cup”

When I arrived in Ecuador, nobody had illusions, because it would be a difficult feat to get to the World Cup. If I make it, it would be one of the highlights of my career.”, sentenced Gustavo Alfaro.

The Ecuadorian team is currently in third place in the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers, adding a total of 23 points in 14 games played. The last 2-0 victory over Chile, as a visitor, increased the chances of qualifying for the ‘Tri’ to the next World Cup.
