Frank Cifaldi, founder of the Video Game History Foundation, launched a call for donations on Twitter on Tuesday. The president of this association dedicated to the preservation of the history of video games has indeed discovered two auctions of completely new NES games on eBay, reports Gizmodo.
The first game is “Battlefields of Napoleon”, the only identified copy of the English version of the war game “Napoleon Senki”, released in Japan in 1988. The bundle includes all the elements intended for Nintendo for its commercialization, files and packaging included. The set was reportedly found in a trash can in 1998.
????Attention video game preservation fans with money to spare????
There are currently TWO unreleased, one-of-a-kind, never-digitized games for the original NES on eBay right now. This has literally never happened before. Our resources are stretched thin, and we could use help. pic.twitter.com/54ym603mHM

A game for the Power Glove
The other auction is for a game that was supposed to work with the Power Glove, a glove-like NES accessory released in 1989 that functions much like the Wii. Sold for 100 dollars at the time, the high-tech accessory made a monumental flop. In total, only five games have been designed to work with the Power Glove, plus this sixth prototype called “Scanner”.
This Tuesday, Frank Cifaldi indicated that he had already raised more than $4,000. However, the bid for “Battlefields of Napoleon” has already climbed to 5,900 dollars and could continue to rise until October 17, when the sale ends. The sale of “Scanner” has already reached 6,000 dollars and will end on Saturday morning. In the event of a successful purchase, Franck Cifaldi has promised to digitize the two games to make them public.
