YouTube Shorts to add shopping features as it insists on overtaking TikTok

Shorts would be testing on-platform purchases and affiliate marketing features with some content creators in the United States, as well as audiences in the United States, India, Brazil, Canada, and Australia.

Creators will be able to tag their products in the Short. The affiliate marketing program will also allow them to receive earnings, which are split between the creator, YouTube, and the ad brand.

YouTube Shorts continues to push its way through the public. It recently expanded the short vertical video format to TV apps.
