The Realme 10 Pro and 10 Pro+: characteristics of the new “hyperspace” and “ultralight” cell phones, now official globally

the smartphone company Realme has globally presented its new Realme 10 series, highlighting its most advanced version, Realme 10 Pro+, with its curved screen and 108 MP ProLight camera, as well as the realme UI 4 customization layer, which will be available in Europe from starting March 2023.

The Chinese company has expanded the sale of its new phones globally, which were already launched in China last month. The Realme 10 Series family consists of three devices (Realme 10, 10 Pro and 10 Pro+), which have a “hyperspace” and “ultralight” design, as described by the brand in a press release.

As for its prices in the global market, the realme 10 Pro+ will cost around $379 and its previous model, the Realme 10 Pro, will start at $319. Both in their variants of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory.

The flagship of the series is characterized by its curved screen that reaches 120 Hz. With this screen, the company aims to offer a borderless visual experience and a more comfortable grip for the user. Specifically, its lower edge has 2.33 millimeters.

Continuing with the characteristics of its screen, the Realme 10 Pro+ includes 2,160Hz dimming technology which, as the company has explained, is “lthe world’s highest to reduce screen flicker”. By comparison, most smartphones in this range on the market contain 480Hz.

In this sense, this model can maintain accurate color reproduction on the screen when used in dark environments, as endorsed by the TÜv Rheinland certificates on eye protection that it includes.

Likewise, the 10 Pro+ model uses a 4th generation anti-touch algorithm, thanks to which ghost touches on the curved screen are reduced. To do this, it has a 20 percent larger anti-touch area.

On the other hand, another of the strengths of the Realme 10 Pro+ is its 108 MP ProLight camera that also incorporates improvements in the photography algorithm that is based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and in the RAW domain algorithm.

All this is supported by three motors, the ‘QuickShot Acceleration’ that allows night shooting in one second, and which is five times faster than its predecessor. The ‘Image Fusion’ engine, which upgrades the algorithm to improve HDR performance, and finally, the ‘Super Nightscape’ engine, which can process RAW-based images to show more detail in the nightscape, thanks to advanced ProLight algorithm.

Likewise, it includes the 3X In-sensor Zoom technology, with which it is possible to capture with an optical quality zoom effect of three increases. In addition, the camera also comes with the updated Street Photography 3.0 Mode, with which users can experience different filters for shooting in an urban environment. It also includes new features such as Super Group Portrait for crowd photos, plus One Take and AI Video Tracking to enhance the imaging experience.

The Realme 10 Pro+ has a triple main camera that is made up of a 108-megapixel Samsung HM6 sensor and that is helped by secondary sensors such as the 8-megapixel wide-angle lens (112º) and another 2-megapixel macro sensor with focus distance up to four centimeters. The front camera, meanwhile, is 16 megapixels.

As for its processor, the Realme 10 Pro+ is powered by an eight-core MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor that runs at 2.6GHz and is manufactured with a 6-nanometer process. As realme has reported, this processor is in the upper-middle range and offers a frame rate “higher and more stable”, as well as a “incredible gaming experience with very low power consumption”.

Realme 10 Pro+ has different configurations, which vary between a 6, 8 or 12 GB RAM memory -it supports expansion through dynamic RAM of up to 12GB- and between 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. The battery has a 5,000 mAh capacity and has a 67W fast charge.

Realme 10 Pro+ supports some 5G features. For example, it is capable of intelligent switching between 4G and 5G, it also has 4G Internet access during phone calls, and it supports all 46 global major bands.

Three colors of this model have been presented globally: Hyperspace, which uses white colors; Nebula Blue with blue tones; and Dark Matter, which is based on black.

REALME WITH UI 4.0

The company has also highlighted the UI 4.0 customization layer, which was not available on any of its devices until now. In this sense, Realme has announced that in Europe the Realme UI 4.0 update will be available for Realme 10 4G from March 2023, and that the realme 10 4G will arrive in Spain early next year.

The Realme UI 4.0 layer introduces new features, such as the smart music player for easy audio control, and the personalized Always On Display, which allows users to meet their needs.

Likewise, with the improvement of InputBoost 3.0 and Dexopt, Realme UI 4.0 provides a browsing experience “durable and fluid” with better performance and lower power consumption, as realme has emphasized. Plus, the Quantum animation engine delivers a natural experience that makes every swipe and click a “more sensitive and fluid”.

With Realme UI 4.0, new features for privacy protection have been developed. It stands out, ‘Auto Pixelate’, a system that will automatically recognize and pixelate profile photos and names in screenshots. ‘Private Safe’ has also emerged, which is based on the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), and which improves the security capacity to encrypt important files and images before sharing them.

REALME 10 PRO 5G

Another member of the Realme 10 series is the Realme 10 Pro model, which features ultra-thin side bezels, which are 1mm wide. Likewise, its screen is a 120Hz Boundless Display and therefore it is “the most expensive screen ever seen on a smartphone”, as stated by the company.

This device has the same photographic experience and design as the 10 Pro+ model. However, its processor is a Snapdragon 695G with eight cores and is made with a six-nanometer process and runs at a maximum frequency of 2.2GHz. Likewise, it has a RAM memory of 8 or 12 GB and between 128 or 256 GB of storage to choose from.

Its battery has a capacity of 5000mAh, and SUPERVOOC Charge 33W fast charging technology. Regarding its operating system, it is Realme UI 4.0.
