Student who did not go to class passed his English exam thanks to studying with ChatGPT

The use of ChatGPT as a support tool it has proven to be very useful for many people, including those who have had difficulties in their studies. An example of it is the case of a Reddit user who shared his experience of how he is artificial intelligence helped him pass an English exam just three days before the test date, despite never having attended classes due to personal problems.

The young man admitted that turning to ChatGPT was a desperate solution, since he had to learn the content of 12 weeks of classes in just three days. However, he found that all the lectures had been transcribed on the Echo360 web, allowing him to copy and paste the content into ChatGPT with a specific request: “Analyze this class and use your algorithms to determine what information is relevant for an exam, make a list”.

Although the tool worked, the summary that ChatGPT generated was still too long. So the user decided to use a paraphrasing tool to further condense the content. He assured that he was able to review all the content of the classes in approximately 4 or 5 hoursdespite the fact that the original total of the classes amounted to almost 30 hours.

The next day, the student asked ChatGPT to define each term that would be considered a “highlight” in each class, using only the textbook and summary transcripts. It took him another 4-5 hours to make sure the information was correct.

Surprisingly, the protagonist of this story passed the exam with a score of 94 out of 100despite not having attended any of the classes and having only had 3 days to learn the entire syllabus.

It is important to note that while using an AI like ChatGPT can give you good results, it is not always reliable and may require additional time to verify the veracity of responses. Although the most sensible thing is to attend classes, more and more people use this AI for support, especially for tedious or repetitive tasks.
