Google shares doodle honoring actor and activist Christopher Reeve

This September 25, Google decided to pay tribute to the director, actor, author and activist Christopher Reeve with a doodle. Known for his advocacy work on spinal cord research along with his character in four “Superman” tapes.

Christopher D’olier Reeve He was born on September 25, 1952 in New York City (United States). He studied at The Juilliard School, where he graduated. In addition, he made his debut in the 1976 Broadway comedy “A Matter of Gravity.”

Two years after entering the world of acting, he auditioned to play the man of steel in the movie “Superman”From 1978. The role launched him to international fame, but he refused to be pigeonholed into action roles.

Outside of acting, Reeve was an equestrian and athlete. However, in 1995 he was paralyzed from the neck down by an accident in a horse riding competition.

The injuries made him an activist to help people with spinal cord injuries in the world. The actor used his platform to raise awareness about disabilities.

As well as to increase the “caps” of life insurance to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities. Through his foundation he managed to improve individual grants.

In addition, Reeve helped fund government stem cell research to promote the treatment of health conditions, such as spinal cord injuries.

His legacy continues with the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, which he founded in 1998.
