Disney+ gives users 30 days to adapt to changes: standard plan with ads and end of shared accounts

Disney+ has begun to inform users of its content platform in ‘streaming’ of the changes that will come to Spain and that will begin to be applied in November, such as the incorporation of a new standard plan with advertisements and the restriction on account sharing.

The standard plan with ads will arrive in Spain on November 1, a date that the company indicated in August, during a meeting with investors, to implement this new subscription option, although it did not then specify the countries it would reach in its expansion.

This new plan includes ads, as its name indicates, and gives access to the entire Disney+ catalog, unlike Netflix, which limits content. It also does not support downloads, and offers up to two simultaneous devices, 1,080p image quality and 5.1 stereo audio.

This new subscription will coexist with two others: the standard one, which does not have ads and does allow you to download the content to view it offline; and the premium, which improves the offer compared to the standard, with 4K resolution, up to four simultaneous devices and stereo audio.

The price also varies between the three plans: the standard with ads will have a monthly price in Spain of 5.99 euros, the standard 8.99 euros and the premium 11.99 euros.

Along with this reorganization of subscriptions, Disney+ will also introduce changes to the comparison of accounts: it limits it to users who live in the same household, or, more specifically, to “the collection of devices associated with your main personal residence, in the to the extent that they are used by people who reside there.”

This change was already introduced at the end of September in the information of the subscription contract. Now, with the notification it is sending to users, the company warns that it is granting a 30-day plan to adapt to the news.
