In the city of Bucha, west of Kiev, these women try to flee in the middle of the fire.

According to Ukraine’s deputy prime minister, civilian forces are attacking civilian targetsincluding hospitals, day care centers and schools.

In many of the cities under attack, food is scarce and there are problems with the supply of water and electricity.

According to the UN, more than 1.5 million people have fled Ukraine in the last 10 days to neighboring countries.

Most have crossed into neighboring Poland.
