Ukrainian president says Russia attacked humanitarian corridor to Mariupol

The Ukrainian leader also explained that around 100,000 people had been evacuated in the last two days from besieged cities, 40,000 of them on Thursday, through humanitarian corridors.

The Russian army maintains its siege on large Ukrainian cities and continues its bombardments, such as the one that on Wednesday affected a mother and child hospital in Mariupola strategic port in the Azov Sea besieged for ten days.

Moscow promised on Thursday the daily opening of humanitarian corridors to allow civilians to flee the fighting and reach Russia. But Ukraine It demands that these routes lead to its own territory and not to that of the country that is bombing its population.
