Julian Assange: British justice gives free rein to the extradition to the US of the founder of WikiLeaks

The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, the highest judicial instance in the country, dismissed on Monday an appeal filed by the founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assangewhich gives the green light for his extradition to the United States.

However, during this long legal process, the defense of the computer scientist has said on several occasions that there were aspects of the case that had not been examined and that he planned to appeal them if the time came.

Washington appealed in December the ruling of January 21, 2021 of the judge of first instance Vanessa Baraitser, who denied the delivery of the founder of WikiLeaks considering that it presents a risk of suicide and that prison conditions in the US could exacerbate it.

The judges of the Superior then agreed with the US, agreeing that Baraitser should have asked them at that time for guarantees about the prison regime that would be applied to the accused in order to minimize the risks to his health.
