Colombia: family was going to know the sea, but suffered an accident and only one girl survived

A family that was going to see the sea for the first time, suffered a traffic accident in the city of Ciénaga, Magdalena (Colombia). According to TV snailOf the six passengers, only a 10-year-old girl survived.

Among the victims are: the police pensioner Jose Roberto Pena; his mother, María del Carmen González; his wife, Fanny Martinez; his son Walter Peña; and his daughter-in-law Karen Dueñas. All of them died in the crash against a truck.

The family had taken advantage of a few days off to get to know the sea in Santa Marta.

“Walter was doing a promotion course in the Police and they gave him a few days’ leave, and my daughter is working and it just so happened that they gave her permission. They came to enjoy a time for Santa Marta”said Luis Dueñas, relative of the victims.

According to the police, the accident was caused by road recklessness: they occupied another lane and collided head-on with a truck.

It is known that the 10-year-old girl is still in the hospital. She will have to face the loss of her two parents and her two grandparents.

On the other hand, the bodies will be delivered this Tuesday and a plane will take them to Bogotawhere they will be buried.
