Marcelo Pecci: murderers of the prosecutor against organized crime had been following him from Paraguay

Authorities from at least three countries are carrying out all kinds of investigations to establish who is behind the crime of the anti-mafia prosecutor in Paraguay Marcelo Pecci.

According to a preliminary report circulating among intelligence agents, Pecci was killed at 10:45 a.m. this Tuesday by gunmen who were traveling on jet skis. They intercepted the boat in which the official was traveling.

According to the report to which EL TIEMPO had access, Pecci entered Colombia on May 5 through the Cartagena airport, Rafael Nuñez, from Asunción. That same day he stayed at the Royal Hotel, but on May 6 he went to the Hotel Decameron Isla Baru.

I was in the company of claudia aguileraa Paraguayan journalist with whom he had married on April 30.

The passenger list

EL TIEMPO established exclusively that for intelligence agents it is clear that Pecci had been followed from Asunción. For this reason, they have already requested the passenger list of the flight in which they arrived in Colombia, by the Copa airline.

Local sources told EL TIEMPO that Nobody in Paraguay had warned about the official’s visit, its importance and high risk. Not even the police knew that he had been in Cartagena for three days.

This newspaper confirmed that US federal agents are going to be part of the investigation.

In addition, it is being verified if hitmen were subcontracted in Colombia or if the assassins came from the official’s country of origin. The attack that claimed the life of the prosecutor and that would have left a security guard injured, occurred in White beach.
