Another raid took place in a prison that was not identified.

Jorgge indicated that the records are part of the “primary investigative acts” as part of the murder Pecciwho was shot by unknown individuals on a private beach on the island of Barú, near the Colombian city of Cartagena de Indias.

The police chief explained that they held a formal meeting “highly technical” with the teams of prosecutors from the units against organized crime and drug trafficking, which are part of the “immediate environment” from Pecci.

During the meeting, he added, it was agreed to search some detention centers.

In total, at least six cells were raided, including that of Kassem Mohamad Hijazi, a Brazilian citizen of Lebanese origin captured on August 24 last year in the Paraguayan town of Ciudad del Este, on charges of money laundering.

A day after his capture, the US Department of the Treasury sanctioned him along with two other people involved in a money laundering network, whom he accused of playing a role in corruption in Paraguay.

Cells where Colombian citizens are kept were also checked, added the officer, who pointed out that the operations began last Tuesday, when the murder occurred.
