Vice President of Colombia affirms that there is progress in the investigation of the crime of prosecutor Marcelo Pecci

The vice president of ColombiaMarta Lucía Ramírez, assured in Asunción that the investigations into the crime of the Paraguayan prosecutor Marcelo Pucciwhich occurred on a Colombian Caribbean beach on May 10, are “quite advanced.”

“The investigations are quite advanced and work continues in coordination with the authorities of research of the United States and other countries, Ramírez declared from the Paraguayan capital, according to the local Interior Minister, Federico González, at a press conference.

Ramírez, also foreign minister of his country, held an official meeting on Thursday with the Paraguayan head of state, Mario Abdo Benítez, and with the main authorities that are investigating at the local level the murder of the anti-drug prosecutor when he was enjoying his honeymoon in Colombia.

The vice president expressed his sympathy and condolences “On behalf of the people and government of Colombiafor the homicide.

Ramírez also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay, Julio Arriola; the Minister of National Defense, Bernardino Soto Estigarribia; the Vice President of the Republic, Hugo Velázquez and the fiscal General, Sandra Quinonez.

“We both need each other so that we can win against the crime organized”he said in brief statements to journalists.

Ramírez announced that in June or July there will be a high-level meeting between members of the two countries with the aim of establishing cooperation in security, defense, the fight against drug trafficking and commercial exchange.

The Paraguayan foreign minister praised the presence of the vice president and highlighted that “Good friends are known in difficult times, and the gesture that the chancellor of Colombiasent by President Iván Duque, is very important for Paraguay”.
