The operation began months ago and involved intelligence and monitoring activities, according to General Luis Fernando Navarro, commander of the Armed Forces, who explained that alias Mayimbú remained as head of the groups of the so-called Western Coordinating Command after the death of ‘Jhonier ‘, at the beginning of this year.
That’s the way it is, he had under his command 12 structures and more than 1,800 men in total.
There were three arrest warrants against him for kidnapping for ransom, conspiracy to commit a crime and aggravated extortion, and he is accused of multiple homicides and forced displacement in Cauca.
The gun with gold
Among the belongings obtained by the authorities a nine millimeter firearm was found that was gold plated. The pistol served as proof that he had been discharged, since it had his nickname inscribed on the grip and his face drawn.
